Special Education 1:1 Aide for Individual Student

Year to Year Position (as needed)
Additional before and after school hours available as
Aide on Bus or for Sports & Extracurriculars
Qualifications
* High School Diploma.
* Post-secondary education preferred with a background in medical/special education.
* Experience working with Special Needs children preferred.
* Safety Care, CPR and first aid training preferred or willing to train.
* Ability to take direction from and work under the supervision of one or more teachers.
* Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable (may require LPN certification depending on student needs).
Responsibilities
* Work with the assigned student as determined by the teacher or administrator.
* Willingness to be trained in specific behavioral techniques.
* Awareness of medical concerns: allergies, seizures, etc. and student assistance protocol.
* Accompany students to designated areas and classes as directed and assist student with class work.
* Attend in-service training sessions that pertain to special education.
* Perform such other tasks as may be assigned from time to time by the classroom teacher and/or the Principal.
