Job Description:
The Test Section Leader will be responsible for leading a bench testing team within the R&D function, ensuring components and systems are tested accurately and efficiently in line with customer and internal engineering requirements.
As Test Section Leader, you will oversee the daily operation of the test facility, ensuring all testing activities follow internal procedures, safety standards and quality requirements. This includes planning test programmes, coordinating resources and ensuring test rigs, equipment and fixtures are available to support engineering schedules.
The Test Section Leader will analyse customer specifications and develop detailed functional test plans. You will ensure that test procedures are followed correctly, with all results recorded and reported clearly to internal engineering teams.
A key part of the role involves analysing test data, producing technical reports and presenting findings to relevant stakeholders. The Test Section Leader will also play an important role in mentoring and supporting engineers within the team while contributing to resource planning and performance targets.
Working closely with design, quality and manufacturing teams, the Test Section Leader will support cross-functional collaboration both locally and with international engineering teams. This role is ideal for a technically capable Test Section Leader who enjoys combining hands-on testing work with team leadership and problem solving.
Skills & Experience:
* Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent experience)
* Proven experience working within a testing or validation environment, ideally within automotive or manufacturing engineering
* Strong understanding of HVAC systems and testing methodologies
* Previous experience leading, mentoring or supervising engineering teams
* Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as injection moulding, brazing or pipe bending would be beneficial
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex test data
* Experience with testing instrumentation, thermal analysis or noise analysis
* Excellent communication and technical reporting skills
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering documentation systems
* Willingness to travel occasionally within the UK or internationally if required
