An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to join the Essex Police Legal Department as a Litigation Executive.
Applications are invited from persons educated to degree level and who possess a recognised professional legal qualification. You must be able to demonstrate prior experience in civil litigation.
You will support the Civil Claims Manager with providing a comprehensive, quality legal service to Essex Police within the civil claims team.
Your application must evidence the following areas;
1. Educated to degree level and possess a recognised professional legal qualification (minimum requirement NALP Level 7 Diploma / CILEX Paralegal)
2. Prior experience in civil litigation.
3. A sound working knowledge of the CPR and their application to civil claims.
4. Experience in drafting legal correspondence, reports and witness statements.
5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to converse effectively across a broad spectrum of people from members of the public to Chief Officers.

Essex Police offer agile working which allows some flexibility in terms of work arrangements. Due to the operational nature of this role, it will be predominantly office based within an office-based team. Some travel may be required to other police sites to discharge duty.
Depending on your current vetting level and security clearances, you may be required to complete additional vetting information during the recruitment process.
