We have a great opportunity available to join Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Wakefield and HMP Full Sutton, working as a Personal Social Development. This role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, working 37 hours per week. This full-time, permanent role will provide essential cover across both of our Yorkshire high security sites-HMP Wakefield and HMP Full Sutton-supporting a range of curriculum areas in personal and social development. The successful candidate will work flexibly between the two locations, depending on operational need. Who are Novus? Our business is growing year on year due to our continued success as a leading provider in prison education. Site Information HMP Wakefield is a Category A high-security prison for adult men, located in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. Established in 1594 as a house of correction, it is one of the oldest operating prisons in England and Wales. The site forms part of the long-term high-security estate and houses individuals convicted of serious offences. It has a capacity of around 750 prisoners, with a current population of approximately 630, including about 148 Category A inmates. HMP Full Sutton is a Category A high-security prison located in East Yorkshire, approximately 11 miles from York. It accommodates around 600 adult male prisoners, many of whom are serving long-term or life sentences. The prison offers a structured and secure environment where education plays a vital role in rehabilitation. Learners are supported through a range of educational and vocational programmes. Skills, Qualifications and Experience To be successful in this role, you will need: Teaching qualification and where applicable, relevant subject specialist qualification - with a commitment to obtain the outstanding qualification within 12 months Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy Track record of creating stimulating, vibrant environments which are conducive to learning and motivational for learners Track record of achievement of quality targets Track record of producing accurate and timely reports Effective interpersonal and communication skills Ability to motivate and enthuse learners Organisational skills to prioritise workload to meet deadlines and targets Positive team working Benefits 40 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays 2 hours for wellbeing / personal development per week Significant Pension contributions Retail Discounts Employee Assistance Program Cycle to work scheme Safeguarding The LTE Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
