Curatorial E
CPL has partnered with Northern Ireland Civil Service (NICS) to recruit a Curatorial E (SO Grade) for a temporary contract with the possibility of extension.
Pay Rate – £17.94 per hour
Location – DfC, HED Heritage State Care Causeway
Benefits – 37 days holiday per annum
Hours – 37 hours per week
Responsibilities include:
* Provide professional advice on management, conservation, and presentation of State Care Monuments, including specifying, monitoring, and reporting on repairs, monitoring expenditure, and providing information to the public.
* Conduct cyclical condition surveys.
* Perform cyclical site risk assessments.
* Carry out curatorial inspections at State Care Monuments.
* Apply for statutory consents and follow internal SCHB processes.
* Provide archaeological services for ground works when required.
* Coordinate with colleagues across the division, especially State Care Operations Branch and Conservation Works Team.
* Write business cases as needed.
* Manage activities in liaison with the Curatorial Grade D Senior Archaeologist, ensuring compliance with DfC policies and procedures.
* Assist in policy development and implementation through targeted research, staying updated on policy developments, legislation, and initiatives in the UK and Europe.
Essential Criteria:
* Honours degree (or equivalent) in Archaeology and at least two years of field experience, which can be accumulated over the past five years.
* Full driving licence and access to transportation to fulfill the duties of the role.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
* Additional years of field experience, including senior positions such as site director or senior site supervisor. Experience with building conservation works.
