The Counselling Tutor Role:
As the Counselling Tutor, you will deliver the Counselling Course levels 2 to 3 to Adults attending evening courses as agreed with the Adult Learning and Professional Skills Manager.
Key Responsibilities of the Counselling Tutor:
Mark registers and provide documentation in line with College policies
Work closely with the Adult Learning and Professional Skills Manager, particularly with regards to the recruitment, monitoring
Pay due attention to the principles of inclusive learning including:
individual learning styles;
support for students with learning difficulties and disabilities;
extension resources/activities for students of higher ability;
Contribute to the design, delivery and future planning and development of curriculum
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of developments and research in Counselling
Promote the sharing of good practice in the development of teaching methods and strategies.
Participate in the College's teaching, learning and assessment quality cycle
About You:
Level 4 Counselling/Psychotherapy or related L4 qualification
Certificate or Diploma in Education and Training and/or PTLLS (or willing to work towards a Teaching Qaulification)
Extensive experience as Counsellor with a minimum of 3 years in the role
Knowledge and understanding of current developments in Counselling/Psychotherapy
Evidence of working towards and achieving personal targets
The ability to relate well to learners of all abilities and to assess learner needs
Empathy with and strong commitment to meeting the needs of individual students
