Surveyor / Senior Surveyor
Job Description Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Occupier Services team at Surveyor / Senior Surveyor level, working on one of our most prestigious client accounts. The role will provide occupier clients with full, professional Property Management services. You will work closely with colleagues across the UK offices and will be based in Glasgow or Edinburgh, with regular attendance at client sites required.
Core Responsibilities
* Serve as the focal point for all property-related queries for a portfolio of properties and take ownership to ensure effective operation of allocated sites.
* Liaise with clients and third parties—landlords, their agents and solicitors—to ensure uninterrupted use of the client’s premises, acting as the intermediary between landlord and tenant.
* Identify and implement cost savings for corporate occupiers.
* For sublet properties, monitor income collection and tenant liaison.
* Manage exit strategies for freehold and leasehold properties being vacated, including supporting the vacant process and inspecting to certify premises vacated.
* Ensure adherence to lease terms and compliance with statutory requirements, advising clients accordingly.
* Contribute to budgeting for the client to ensure that services undertaken are within the client’s budget.
* Work with other Cushman & Wakefield teams and external professionals to provide a full service to the client.
* Maintain frequent client contact and reporting.
* Help achieve client and departmental targets.
* Deliver regular and accurate client reports.
* Carry out inspections of third‑party let portfolio, travelling to sites where appropriate.
Knowledge & Experience
* General practice background in corporate, public sector or private practice.
* Experience working in a large practice and/or corporate environment.
* Broad surveying skills covering multiple practice areas.
* Understanding of the interaction between Property and other business functions within a Corporate Occupier.
* Knowledge of business development and client relationship management.
* Experience networking and building internal and external relationships.
* Up‑to‑date knowledge of legislation regarding Property Management.
* Strong understanding of Service Charge and RICS guidance.
* Strong IT skills (Excel, Outlook, Word).
* Experience applying A.I. in a property context to provide insights and improve efficiencies.
* Property Management or general practice background within corporate, public sector or private practice.
* Line‑management experience (advantageous).
* Experience liaising with Facilities Management, Transaction Management and Finance/Accounting teams.
Qualifications
* Degree‑level qualification in estate management or equivalent (desired).
* Membership of RICS desired; candidates on the path to RICS qualification will be considered.
* Full driving licence.
