Technical Support Engineer
Location – Sussex
Salary - £35,000 DOE
A well-established and growing UK-based technology manufacturer delivering specialist communication and alarm systems to healthcare, custodial and commercial environments across domestic and international markets.
Due to continued expansion, we are seeking an experienced Technical Support Engineer to join our team. Reporting directly to senior management, you will play a key role in delivering technical support services both internally and externally.
The ideal candidate will have an electronics or systems background, along with a solid understanding of IP infrastructure and network-based systems.
Responsibilities:
* Providing technical product support to customers and internal teams via telephone, email and online platforms
* Occasional customer site visits to provide assistance and support
* Delivering technical training and preparing customer training materials
* Supporting the sales team to maintain high standards of customer service
* Testing and configuring products
* Assisting with small-batch production activities including testing, configuration and some assembly work
Skills and experience:
* Qualification level HNC in Electronics or similar discipline
* Strong customer service and communication skills
* Experience with Ethernet networking and TCP/IP configuration
* Familiarity with device configuration software and USB interfaces
* Experience using oscilloscopes and digital multimeters
* Knowledge of SIP telephony systems would be advantageous
* Able to work proactively with minimal supervision and use own initiative
Desirable Skills:
* Ability to diagnose and repair circuit boards to component level
* Soldering and rework experience
