Business Support - Cared for Children & Care Leaver Team

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a committed and supportive team making a real difference to the lives of children and young people!

As part of our Cared for Children and Care Leavers service, this 12‑month fixed‑term Business Support role offers a varied, meaningful workload in a friendly and purpose‑driven environment. Based at Delamere House in Crewe, you’ll enjoy a stable Monday–Friday working pattern with 37 hours per week, giving you the chance to grow your skills while contributing to work that truly matters.

About the role:

1. Provides a pivotal source of administrative support that helps the Social Work Team deliver the best possible service to children, families and partner agencies.
2. Ensures smooth day‑to‑day operations through high‑quality word processing, including letters, legal documents and sensitive child‑related information.
3. Facilitates clear, confident communication pathways by handling telephone enquiries and maintaining strong links with professionals and the public.
4. Supports multi‑agency working by arranging meetings, preparing documentation and producing accurate, confidential minutes.
5. Manages financial transactions and reconciliation with accuracy and attention to detail.
6. Maintains up‑to‑date client and service‑user records, ensuring information is handled responsibly and securely.
7. Keeps filing and organisational systems efficient and reliable so the team can work effectively.

About you:

8. You will thrive in a fast‑paced environment and feel confident managing high‑volume calls, including from people who may be distressed or facing challenging family circumstances.
9. You’ll communicate with a wide mix of professionals - across education, health and social care - and adapt your style naturally to each situation.
10. You will bring strong minute‑taking experience, exceptional organisational skills and the ability to handle sensitive information with care and professionalism.
11. You’ll be comfortable using a range of digital systems, with experience in word processing, document management and administrative or financial tasks; familiarity with Liquid Logic is an advantage.
12. You will be flexible, positive and proactive, able to prioritise your workload and contribute confidently as a valued team member.
13. You’ll benefit from hybrid working arrangements once your probation period is successfully completed, giving you a great blend of structure and autonomy.
