1:1 Tutor – Birmingham Area Location: Birmingham and surrounding areas Position Type: Part-Time / Flexible / Self-Employed Hours: School hours (typically 9:00am–3:00pm) Pay: Competitive hourly rates based on experience and qualifications Make a Difference Through Personalised Learning We are currently recruiting 1:1 Tutors to support children and young people across Birmingham. Tuition will take place in pupils' homes, schools, community settings, or alternative provision environments during school hours. This is a rewarding opportunity for experienced tutors, qualified teachers, teaching assistants, mentors, and education professionals who are passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. Many of the learners we support have additional educational needs, SEND, SEMH challenges, gaps in education, or are unable to access mainstream schooling on a full-time basis. Key Responsibilities Deliver engaging and tailored 1:1 tuition sessions. Assess pupils' abilities and plan lessons to meet individual learning needs. Support pupils in building confidence, resilience, and academic progress. Adapt teaching strategies to suit different learning styles and needs. Monitor and record pupil progress accurately. Communicate effectively with schools, parents, carers, and other professionals. Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and positive learning experiences. Subjects Required We are particularly interested in tutors who can teach: English Mathematics Science Primary Curriculum Functional Skills GCSE Subjects SEN and Intervention Support Essential Requirements Experience working with children and young people in an educational setting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to engage and motivate learners on a 1:1 basis. Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one). Right to work in the UK. Ability to travel within Birmingham and surrounding areas. Desirable Qualifications & Experience Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or equivalent teaching qualification. Experience supporting pupils with SEND, ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or EBSA. Previous tutoring, mentoring, intervention, or alternative provision experience.
