Electrical Design Engineer Building Services
Responsibilities
* Interact with workloads and priorities, coordinate internally on projects and assist in advising on resourcing and workload within the project Mechanical team.
* Set and manage design goals with project senior, attend weekly team meetings, and seek ways to improve efficiency and productivity of the team.
* Promote a can-do attitude within the MEP design team and ensure it is instilled in every project.
* Operate on multiple projects and organise to meet all deadlines agreed with the project lead.
* Perform full detailed mechanical design and contribute to design calculations for domestic, ventilation, heating and cooling systems as required.
* Coordinate design with electrical design members and feed into design team meetings, reporting progress to the wider design team.
* Manage design workloads and provide completed work to the Project Lead for QA in a timely manner, aligning dates with client targets for timely issue of information.
* Participate in the design verification process, including self-checking work prior to issuing for QA and Senior/Graduate QA checks.
Technical Ability
* Working understanding of current building regulations, CIBSE documentation, British standards, BSRIA documentation and other design guides relevant to the building services industry.
* IT literate with working knowledge of Office, AutoCAD, RELUX and Dialux.
* As a minimum, working towards Member of CIBSE accreditation.
* Minimum 2 years of experience in the related specialist area to ensure sufficient exposure to technical aspects of the role.
