Your new role
As a Credit Controller, you will be responsible for managing outstanding debt, ensuring timely cash collection, and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders. This is a 6-month fixed-term contract offering a salary of £34,000 pro rata. The role is primarily remote, with a requirement to attend the Gloucestershire office 2–3 times per month.
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Chasing outstanding debt via phone, email, and written correspondence
2. Managing a ledger and ensuring accurate record-keeping
3. Liaising with internal departments and external stakeholders
4. Supporting the wider finance team with reporting and reconciliations
5. Handling queries and resolving payment issues efficiently
What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will:
6. Have proven experience in credit control
7. Have previously worked within a council/local authority or have experience chasing debt on behalf of a council
8. Be confident in managing high volumes of accounts
9. Have strongmunication and negotiation skills
10. Be able to work independently in a remote environment
11. Be available to start immediately or at short notice.
