Location: HMP Gartree, Gallow Field Road, Market Harborough LE16 7RP
Standard hours: 39 hours per week, 08:00-17:00. 1 in 3 weekends on rota basis, with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary.
Base salary: £29,009 - £35,015, dependant on experience.
Responsibilities
* Planned and preventative electrical maintenance, including administrative duties aligned to the tasks.
* Actively fault finding and problem solving on electrical systems across the prison.
* Carry out like‑for‑like replacements and other electrical minor works with the relevant electrical inspections and tests carried out and results recorded in accordance with BS7671.
* Ensuring that all electrical systems are safe, compliant, and functioning effectively, helping to create a secure and well‑maintained environment for staff and residents.
* Assist the Responsible person and Authorised person when requested.
* Responsible for ensuring that Health & Safety standards, Risk Assessments, and Safe Systems of Work are consistently implemented and followed across all appropriate work streams.
* Assist escorting duties and other duties as required.
Requirements
* City & Guilds 2367 or 2357 Level 2 Electrical Installation works or equivalent.
* BS7671 18th Edition; 17th Edition considered with upskilling to 18th Edition.
* Good working knowledge of Health & Safety requirements.
* Good working knowledge of planned and preventative maintenance operations.
* Excellent organisational, time‑management and people skills.
* Experience of working under pressure to tight deadlines.
* Able to work at heights, independently and with initiative.
* Understanding of fire alarm and CCTV systems (Desirable).
* Knowledge and experience of Electrical Systems and Electricity at Work Regulations.
* Basic IT skills.
* Prison Security Clearance including Counter Terrorism Check (CTC) will be required (Amey will support you through this process).
