Arts & Crafts Instructor - Summer - Winchester, Hampshire
Hours of work: 08:30 – 17:30
Salary: £412.00 – £559.17 per week, depending on age, experience, and qualifications. (February Half Term contracts will be issued at 2023 wage levels. 2024 wage levels are effective from 1st April.)
Reportable to: Camp Senior Team, Area Manager, and Central Office

ARTS & CRAFTS INSTRUCTOR DUTIES
1. Set up and maintain an inviting Arts & Crafts area, keeping it tidy and stocked with resources.
2. Follow policies and procedures to ensure a fun and safe environment for children.
3. Plan and deliver a variety of engaging, age-appropriate creative activities.
4. Provide safety instructions and demonstrations for equipment, ensuring adherence.
5. Work alongside other staff members assisting with sessions.
6. Take responsibility for the general welfare and safeguarding of children.
7. Ensure active supervision and attention to children's needs throughout the day, including breaks and lunch.
8. Create prototypes for display.
9. Encourage maximum participation from children.
10. Deliver and oversee the Discovery Squad skills builder, utilizing resources effectively.
11. Coordinate with other Arts & Crafts instructors if applicable, possibly job sharing.
12. Ensure safe use of all equipment.
13. Maintain a tidy site/base rooms and pack away equipment at the end of sessions.
REQUIREMENTS
* Experience in Arts and Crafts.
* Be aged 18 or over by the start date.
* Eligible to work in the UK.
* Provide satisfactory professional or academic references.
* Be enthusiastic, caring, organized, with excellent communication skills and initiative.
* Obtain an enhanced DBS check through Barracudas or have an existing one on the Update Service.
* Attend a Virtual Assessment Event if new to Barracudas (see Staffroom for dates).
* Complete annual online training.
* Attend an Induction Training Day before your first season.
* Assist with camp pack-up at the end of the season.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
* Follow all Health and Safety protocols diligently.
* Organize activities suitable for children's qualifications, skills, and knowledge.
* Encourage children to participate in new activities and adhere to the timetable.
* Maintain children's safety, respect their individuality, and communicate daily about behavior codes.
* Follow camp systems, including registration, collection, and safety procedures.
* Support your team with additional duties as required.
* Act as a positive role model, promoting healthy lifestyles and good hygiene.
* Report child protection concerns to senior staff or designated persons.
* Make reasonable adjustments for children with additional needs or medical conditions.
* Deliver Skills Builder sessions if staff availability allows.
* Support swimming sessions; bring swimwear and a spare T-shirt.
