Science Teacher M1- UPS3 £32,916 - £51,048 Permanent, Full time Required as soon as possible The Woodlands EHN Team is seeking to appoint a qualified Science Teacher (QTS) to deliver high quality Science teaching to Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils who are medically too unwell to attend their mainstream school, as well as those receiving education other than in school (EOTIS). The successful candidate will be based at one of the EHN sites, The Pines in Sacriston or The Orchard in Leadgate, but will also be required to work across all Woodlands sites, as well as in pupils’ homes and Durham County Council buildings across County Durham. The Pines provides short term education for pupils who are receiving treatment or recovering from medical needs, including both mental health and physical health conditions. The cohort is fluid, with many pupils reintegrating back into their mainstream setting. The Orchard is the long term provision for pupils with anxiety and mental health needs. The Woodlands has also been commissioned to provide education for EOTIS pupils.. The role therefore requires a nurturing approach, with a strong focus on supporting pupils’ mental health, wellbeing, confidence and readiness to learn. Due to the unique nature of the provision we welcome informal discussions about the role and visits to the provision.
