We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Healthcare to join our Healthcare team at HMP Lewes, a local remand category B prison in Lewes.


Hours

Monday - Friday
37.5 hours per week
On call at weekends once every couple of months on average


Salary

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £68,000 per annum + £4,000 car allowance - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

As a Head of Healthcare, your responsibilities will vary. You will:

* Provide pro-active management of the healthcare services on site.
* Maintain the strategic direction of the service and deliver agreed contractual requirements and targets from NHS England.
* Be responsible for delivering a highly functional clinical service, within the budget, with support from the finance business partner and regional manager.
* Form part of the wider prison senior leadership team, working with other key stakeholders to ensure that the contract becomes highly functional, and healthcare services become fully embedded with the prison as a whole.
* Ensure agreed standards are achieved by leading, developing and motivating your team ensuring they receive appropriate supervision and performance appraisal.
* Be the CQC registered manager and implement internal and external policies and procedures, particularly those with statutory implications.

* Degree or appropriate equivalent level of experience and clinical qualification
