Financial Controller

Our client is a high-growth, PE-backed solar energy provider on a mission to accelerate the UK’s transition to cleaner power. With multiple long-term commercial contracts secured and acquisition activity underway, the business is scaling fast. Their next phase of expansion demands sharper financial control, cleaner reporting, and a stronger month-end framework making this a rare opportunity to shape a finance function from the inside out.
The Financial Controller will lead technical accounting, compliance, and financial control in a multi-entity, asset-heavy business poised for further M&A. You’ll be hands-on with the numbers and pivotal in streamlining systems and reporting integrity.
The Financial Controller will:
– Own and improve month-end close, delivering timely and accurate management accounts
– Prepare statutory accounts under FRS102 and lead external audit processes
– Strengthen internal controls and enhance reporting across multiple entities
– Manage UK tax compliance including VAT and corporation tax with external advisers
– Support M&A integration efforts and drive improvements across finance systems
You Will Need:
– ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification
– Strong technical knowledge in FRS102, statutory reporting, and financial controls
– Experience working across complex, multi-entity environments
– Confidence handling large datasets and improving system workflows
– A UK base and full right to work (no sponsorship provided)
