Senior HR Business Partner - HR Shared Services (9m FTC)

The Senior HR Business Partner – HR Shared Services is primarily accountable for the leadership and delivery of a comprehensive, customer‑centric HR service throughout the employee lifecycle. The role acts as the HR Shared Services relationship lead for colleagues, line managers, senior leaders and external stakeholders.

Supporting the UK Group HR Director and working collaboratively with the wider HR Business Partnering team (including L&D and Talent Acquisition), you will lead a talented and high‑performing HR Shared Services team, inspiring a culture of service excellence, process innovation and continuous improvement while delivering a highly engaging colleague and stakeholder experience.


Key Accountabilities

* People and Resources
o Lead the HR Shared Service team to deliver a comprehensive and efficient HR employee lifecycle experience to colleagues, managers and key stakeholders.
o Develop the team to think innovatively and creatively, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and empowerment.
o Ensure processes and systems are effectively maintained, meeting legislative requirements.
o Identify process efficiencies and work cross‑functionally to deliver them.
o Partner with Talent Acquisition and Payroll to oversee recruitment, onboarding and payroll activity.
* HR Data Management
o Maintain accurate HR data management systems and practices.
o Deliver a suite of HR MI reports to senior leadership, including headcount, absence, attrition and DE&I metrics.
o Oversee FTE, headcount and organisational chart reporting.
o Continuously review data processes for security and improvement.
* HR Policy
o Maintain and communicate all HR policies across the UK and Ireland businesses.
o Provide guidance on employment legislation and remedial actions when required.
o Stay current on HR trends, issues and best practice, applying them to CMA‑CGM processes.
o Oversee visa and immigration activity for legal compliance.
* Compensation and Benefits
o Build relationships with third‑party benefit providers and brokers.
o Renew policies and schemes cost‑effectively and timely.
o Coordinate pension activity and administration, ensuring UK compliance.
o Collaborate with Head Office Compensation & Benefits team for group alignment.
o Oversee administration of annual salary, bonus and payroll bureau relationships.
* Other HR Operational Duties
o Coordinate and administer seasonal projects such as engagement surveys, focus groups, performance appraisal processes and L&D initiatives.


Skills and Experience

* Demonstrable experience within an HR Shared Services environment (team management and leadership advantageous).
* Excellent analytical skills with experience of people‑data management and analysis.
* Project management experience.
* Integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
* Resilience and confidence to thrive in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
* Excellent time‑management and prioritisation skills.
* Strong communication and influencing skills at all levels.


Practical and Technical Knowledge

* High computer literacy, especially MS Excel.
* Innovative and creative approach with a track record of continuous improvement.
* Solutions‑focused mindset.
* Experience using AI in an HR environment for continuous improvement.
* Comprehensive knowledge of current employment law legislation.
* Strong systems knowledge of Workday and/or SuccessFactors.


Qualifications

* CIPD Level 7 or equivalent (advantageous but not essential).
* HR or Law related degree (advantageous but not essential).
* Payroll experience (advantageous but not essential).
