The role
Finance Assistant We're supporting a leading UK defence technology organisation in the search for a Finance Assistant to join their growing finance team in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and detail focused finance professional to develop their career within a highly regulated, fast-paced defence environment, supporting a busy Accounts Payable function and working closely with internal stakeholders across the business. The Role Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Accounts Payable function, maintaining strong supplier relationships and ensuring accurate, timely processing of financial transactions. Key responsibilities include: Processing supplier invoices, credit notes and staff expenses Matching invoices against purchase orders and resolving discrepancies Managing supplier queries and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships Performing supplier statement reconciliations Supporting supplier onboarding and master data maintenance Assisting with weekly payment runs Ensuring compliance with company policies, VAT requirements and audit controls Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function About You We're keen to speak with candidates who have: Previous experience within an Accounts Payable or Finance Assistant role Experience working in a multi currency environment Strong purchase order matching and reconciliation experience Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.) Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across the business Eligibility to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC) What's on Offer?
