Established in 1932, The London Clinic is one of the UK's largest private hospitals, with state‑of‑the‑art facilities located around Harley Street. We have approximately 1300 employees across 8 sites, covering complex medical and surgical procedures and comprehensive cancer and outpatient services.


Job Responsibilities

* Scan patients, working closely with Band 7 Radiographers, ensuring a high standard of patient care and participating in the monitoring of standards.
* Ensure that any person entering the MRI scanner is safety checked in accordance with departmental policy.
* Inform patients, relatives and staff about their examinations.
* Assess patients' physical, mental, and communication abilities and needs.
* Position patients accurately for examinations, taking into account their abilities and limitations.
* Assist in radiological procedures utilizing nursing skills, knowledge, and experience.
* Adapt techniques as needed, with mentor assistance, to obtain diagnostic images from patients with limited capabilities.
* Seek advice from colleagues and senior Radiographers when required.
* Undertake IV injections if appropriately trained.
* Liaise with MRI Superintendent, Band 7 Radiographers and reporting Radiologists to ensure protocol matches clinical indications.
* Operate complex radiological equipment accurately and safely, requiring high manual dexterity.
* Seek guidance from Band 7 Radiographer and/or reporting Radiologist to assess images and, where possible, perform additional examinations within a single attendance.
* Ensure all documentation relating to an examination is appropriately organized for rapid transit through administrative systems.
* Work unsupervised and participate in on‑call and weekend work after training and competency sign‑off.
* Familiarise with and understand Policies and procedures for COSHH, Fire, Health and Safety at Work regulations and attend mandatory training.


Job Type & Schedule

* Permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week.
* Shifts: Available between 8am–8pm Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm Saturday and Sunday, with on‑call service. Participate in a long day rota over a 6‑day working week (Monday to Saturday) across four hospital locations, and undertake on‑call shifts throughout the week, weekends and Bank Holidays.

Skills & Experience

* Holding a DCR or BSc in Radiography.
* HCPC registered.
* Familiarity with a computerised patient information system and PACS.
* Minimum of two years’ MRI experience covering a wide range of clinical examinations and applications.

Required qualifications are those listed in the Skills & Experience section.


Experience

Relevant experience in MRI and radiographic procedures, including working with patients of varying abilities.
