I’m working on a really exciting role with this family run business in Southend on Sea. Reporting into the Finance Director the business is now looking to recruit a Corporate Tax Accountant.
Your new role
Broadly speaking the main responsibilities of the role are as follows.Corporate Tax:
1. Prepare annual corporate tax returns.
2. Prepare annual R&D claims.
3. Advise on tax planning opportunities and impact of capital investment plans.
Overseas Corporation Tax:
4. Provide relevant information to tax advisors to support accurate local tax filings.
5. Review overseas tax filings prior to timely submission.
6. Liaise with overseas tax advisors on legislative changes affecting the business.
7. Prepare overseas R&D claims, where applicable.
VAT, Sales Tax & Duty:
8. Review and file monthly UK VAT returns, including any exemptions claimed.
9. Prepare and manage overseas VAT claims and registrations.
10. Prepare information for US sales tax and Nexus reviews.
11. Review and assessmodity codes and respective duty rates internationally.
12. Review the use of Incoterms for accuracy.
13. Review overseas sales tax and duty declarations.
14. Prepare claims for applicable import/export schemes.
Payroll:
15. Advise on legislative changes impacting payroll taxes.
16. Provide technical support on payroll tax matters to the HR Payroll Team.
International Tax:
17. Prepare the Group’s annual transfer pricing report.
18. Advise on tax implications of global expansion.
Training:Deliver ad-hoc training to departments to improve understanding of the tax related matters.General Responsibilities:
19. Ensure adherence to departmental budgets and support financial planning where required
20. Assist other team members with their work and carry out any task where reasonable and relevant, when required.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be ACA / ACCA qualified. CTA qualification would be a bonus but certainly not essential. You could either be working within a professional services firm or have already moved to an in-house role.
