Locum Independent Reviewing Officer / Child Protection Conference Chair Location: Countywide - Base to be agreed (Landmark House, Ipswich preferred) Working Pattern: 2 days per week in the office, remainder remote Rate: £40-£45 per hour Contract Type: Temporary Suffolk County Council is seeking a skilled and experienced Independent Reviewing Officer / Child Protection Conference Chair to join our Safeguarding & Reviewing Officer Service. This is a vital role in ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and planning for children and young people across Suffolk. Key Responsibilities: Chair child protection conferences and children in care reviews with effective scrutiny and progress tracking. Raise concerns or compliments across agencies to prevent drift and identify service gaps. Provide consultancy and practice leadership in Signs of Safety and Wellbeing. Monitor and report on planning outcomes for children to the Head of Safeguarding. Represent the service in complex meetings and multi-agency forums. Essential Requirements: Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration. Proven experience in safeguarding, child protection, and care planning.
