Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Housing Support Officer to join our Community Service team. This role provides support to customers by ensuring appropriate information and advice is given to assist them to sustain their tenancies.
You will maintain a caseload of customers and deliver a person-centred support to those who often present with complex needs requiring a skilled response, e.g. those in crisis, with complex welfare benefit issues or at risk of homelessness. You will provide advice and guidance regarding housing, health, social care, budgeting, benefits, debt management and employment.
You will empower customers to develop the necessary skills and motivation to improve their lives and successfully sustain independent living.
Responsibilities

* Support customers to sustain tenancies and promote independent living.
About you / Qualifications
* Experience of providing support, advocacy or advice and guidance in a housing, support, health, social care or customer service setting.
* Aware of issues affecting vulnerable people.
* Solution-focused with effective communication skills and the ability to liaise with a wide range of customers.
* Positive attitude towards team working, self-motivated, and able to manage time and prioritise workloads.
* Full training will be provided within a supportive team.
* Must be able to drive with access to your own vehicle or alternative transport.
* Enhanced DBS check will be carried out (satisfactory result required).
