Description
Introduction
Our group gentle exercise classes offer gentle exercises for community members looking to stay active at their own pace. Our classes are led by experienced, qualified instructors who tailor exercises to participants’ needs. After the classes, participants get together for free tea & coffee and a chat. We are looking for warm, friendly volunteers to create an inclusive environment for participants and ensure everybody is having a great time.
What does a typical day look like?
When you arrive at the leisure center, you will be greeted by a member of staff and then ‘sign in’ to your volunteer shift. You might assist the instructor in taking exercise equipment and chairs from storage to the class location. When participants arrive, you will be friendly and welcoming, saying hello to newcomers and checking in with regulars. During the class, you might notice someone needs extra assistance and explain the exercise to them. After the class, you will make hot drinks for the group.
