The Salisbury Arms Hotel is set in an iconic 18th-century building in the centre of the historic town of Hertford. This traditional hotel has undergone a transformational refurbishment, with award-winning designers restoring the listed building to its original beauty. An addition of a garden terrace for alfresco drinking and dining all year round, a private dining room and incredible period features accompany locally sourced menus, premium wines and locally brewed beers. This role is for a Chef who wants to build a career in a long-established, successful family-run business where guests come first and quality is paramount.

Key Responsibilities of the Role
* Preparing and serving our menu to a high standard as per company specification to ensure our guests return again and again
* Maintaining food hygiene and health & safety standards within the business and completion of company paperwork with regards to such standards
* Receiving deliveries and maintaining the correct storage of food
* Maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment
The right person will have a positive, hands-on approach, good communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Previous experience of working within a busy kitchen is essential; however, further training and development will be given in-house and also in our Development Kitchen in Hertford.
£14.47 per hour (£12.75 base + average tronc £1.72, based on troncs paid out May/June 2025); live-in reduction £1.65 per hour
