Job Overview
The Activities Co-ordinator plays a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in assisted living and nursing home settings. This position is responsible for planning, organising, and implementing engaging activities that cater to the interests and needs of residents, including those with dementia and Alzheimer's care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in senior care and demonstrate exceptional communication skills to foster a vibrant community atmosphere.
Duties
* Develop and implement a diverse range of activities tailored to the physical, emotional, and social needs of residents.
* Coordinate with staff, families, and external organisations to facilitate events and outings.
* Assess resident interests and preferences to ensure activities are meaningful and enjoyable.
* Maintain accurate records of participation and feedback from residents to continually improve programming.
* Provide support and guidance to caregivers in facilitating activities for residents with varying levels of ability.
* Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations within the care home environment.
* Foster an inclusive atmosphere that encourages resident participation and social interaction.
Skills
* Previous experience in assisted living or nursing home environments is essential.
* A background in senior care, particularly with dementia and Alzheimer's care, is highly desirable.
* Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate approach to resident engagement.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating strong organisational skills.
* Creativity in developing engaging programmes that cater to diverse interests among residents.
* A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and adapting activities as needed.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £12.60 per hour
