About the role
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council is seeking to recruit Residential Care Officers to provide high-quality care and support in a residential setting to vulnerable young people who cannot live with their families. This includes working with children who may have behavioural or emotional difficulties, as well as other additional needs.
This is a highly rewarding role where you will act as a positive role model for our children and young people. Even if you do not have direct experience in a Children’s Residential Home, we recognise and value the wide range of life experiences and transferrable skills that can make you a great fit for this role.
If you do not yet hold the required qualification, we will support you through a structured training programme to achieve your Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare.
This is a part time role of 30 hours per week and the actual salary for the role is £23,951 - £27,323.
What you'll need
• A recognised Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, or a willingness to work towards it within 18 months of appointment
• A positive attitude and experience of working with children or young people
• The ability to work a 7-day shift rota, 365 days a year, including weekends, sleepovers and some waking nights
• Enhanced DBS clearance
• A full UK driving licence
