At Tesco, we’re proud to keep our stores safe, legal, and fully operational for our customers and colleagues. As our estate becomes increasingly connected, the reliability of our systems and networks has never been more important. We’re looking for a Connectivity Maintenance Technical Manager to lead the national strategy for connected assets, ensuring our technology, controls, and infrastructure work seamlessly every day. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape the future of connectivity across one of the UK’s largest and most complex retail estates. You’ll be accountable for advancing the Connectivity Maintenance discipline across our retail estate, ensuring safe, compliant, and cost‑effective management of all connected assets. You’ll support field teams, contractors, and internal stakeholders to maintain a safe, legal, and functioning estate for customers and colleagues. Developing and implementing secure access policies for in‑store engineers and remote users, protecting systems while enabling operational efficiency. Working with vendors and partners to build clear delivery plans for major programmes and rollouts, ensuring connectivity requirements are contractually defined and met. Driving performance, reliability, and availability of monitored assets by analysing KPIs, identifying trends, and delivering year‑on‑year improvements in compliance, cost, and asset reliability. Leading root‑cause investigations for recurring system, controls, and connectivity issues, implementing corrective and preventative actions across the estate. Continuously optimising Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) strategies for connected assets, ensuring they are technically robust, risk‑based, and aligned to asset lifecycle principles. Owning connectivity cost performance, identifying efficiencies and delivering sustainable cost reductions without compromising safety or service. Overseeing parts and obsolescence strategy for controllers, gateways, and network devices, ensuring availability of critical spares and resilient contingency plans.
