The Employee Relations Manager position requires an individual who has significant employee relations experience, deep subject matter expertise, and strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills. These competencies will enable the individual to work both independently to successfully manage a broad spectrum of ER issues and with employees and partners across Amazon’s wide geographic and cultural scope.
Responsibilities

* Proactive and reactive responsibilities to support employee relations objectives.
* Partner with senior managers and People eXperiance & Technology (PXT – HR in other companies) teams to create and sustain positive employee relations programs and best practices.
* Experience facilitating employee listening sessions/focus groups and designing and delivering training programs.
* Experience working with large amounts of quantitative and qualitative data to identify root causes, recognize patterns, and develop creative, innovative solutions for complex problems; develop effective executive-level messaging, reports and presentations to PXT and business leaders.
* Proactively enhance the employee experience by identifying and addressing concerns early, de-escalating and resolving workplace issues before they reach critical levels.
* Work as a project manager on proactive initiatives that improve employee relations and engagement.
* On a reactive basis, undertake significant work on highly sensitive employee relations issues with limited time.
* Balance time between proactive efforts and urgent-response activities.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
* Experience in employee relations, functional human resources or labor/employment law
* Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree, law degree, or specialized training in employee relations is a significant plus
* Experience and solid understanding of UK employment and labor laws
* Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications
* Strong interpersonal and persuasive skills to influence at all levels across a large, dispersed, culturally diverse organization
* Proven problem-solving and analytical skills in ambiguous environments with the ability to manage competing priorities and drive projects to closure
* Ability to navigate complex, international organizational structures
The position reports to the Head of Employee Experience and Relations UK and Ireland, within the Employee Experience and Relations team at Amazon. This is a full-time position that may require up to 30% travel, primarily within the UK and Ireland, with occasional travel to Europe. The base location in the UK is flexible.
