About The Role
Digital Learning Specialist – Fixed-term contract covering maternity leave, with the view to possibly extend to twelve months. Salary £45,000-£50,000 pro rata.

Purpose: As the Digital Learning Specialist, you will provide specialist expertise to the business by leading the implementation of a best‑in‑class learning platform along with creating and evolving compelling digital and online content which boosts experiences and propels us forward. Key to the success of the role will be interfacing with and building authentic relationships with operational and functional teams, including the sector Managing Directors, the wider IT and people and culture teams.
Key Accountabilities
1. Transformation and implementation
* Lead the transformation project to transition from several learning platforms to one consolidated learning management system (LMS).
* Develop and execute a detailed learning system implementation plan, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
* Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure smooth implementation whilst ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
* Ensure any existing learning records and data migration is accurate and secure.
2. Creativity
* Curate our digital learning strategy in collaboration with key stakeholders
* Create fantastic online learning content and pathways that our colleagues love; focussed on the skills they need for their job today, the skills they need for any future roles with us tomorrow and the skills that will serve them for life.
* Apply sound learning design principles that only experts in learning know how to do.
* Innovate with new ways of driving online learning content creation through video, on demand content, SCORM, VR, AR, micro learning and evolving learning technologies.
* Experiment with gamification in online learning to create memorable messages which support the transfer and adoption of learning.
* Strive to enable an individualised and tailored approach to learning.
* Enhance content like PowerPoint presentations and videos to life in ways that apply to adult learning.
* Script the words and visuals for all online storyboards and learning content we need to feel authentically like us.
* Build and design online learning content working with subject matter experts in the business.
* Partner with external online content creators when required.
3. Simplicity
* Own the design of any new online learning from concept to go-live.
* Align learning content to our purpose and strategy which improves our colleagues’ sense of connection.
* Analyse complex information, processes and learning needs and transform these into simple and engaging messages and learning content.
* Create a blueprint for defining the ways of working collaboratively with key stakeholders to identify learning needs and transforming into online content.
* Review of all existing learning content to determine what we need to preserve and what we can leverage/scale across the business.
* Present clear and simple design concepts and proposed solutions to stakeholders
* Map and build simple learning pathways and curriculums for key jobs, levels, sectors and functions.
* Integrate learning impact and measures into any online learning at creation phase.
* Create simple and easy to use learning dashboards.
* Ensure all qualifications and licences can be easily tracked and have the ability to forecast future learning requirements.
* Use the ‘design once and deploy to many’ mindset.
4. Challenge, change and evolve
* Support with building and evolving our culture of learning to create curiosity for lifelong learning.
* Support with building digital literacy across the business
* Develop and implement a change management strategy to facilitate the transition for all colleagues onto best in class learning platform.
* Provide training and support to ensure smooth adoption of the new learning platform.
* Quality review and test learning assets/programmes created by yourself and/or external partners to ensure that they create the right experience for our colleagues.
* Actively seek feedback and run focus groups to continually evolve our online learning experience and provision.
* Analyse data and metrics to leverage better learning outcomes and impact.

Knowledge, experience, and skills
Education & Qualifications
Essential
* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in online learning curation
* Experience with SCORM requirements and ability to use multi‑media to create SCORM files.
* Experience of large‑scale learning or performance systems implementation and deployment
* Strong understanding of instructional design principles, adult learning theory, and learning technologies
* Expert in instructional design authoring tools, such as Articulate, Adobe Captivate, or similar software.
* Knowledge of learning management systems (LMS) and other digital learning platforms
Desirable
* Experience with multimedia software, video editing tools, and graphic design software
* Experience using new AI technologies in L&D
* Large scale organisations
