Are you an experienced Maintenance Manager looking for your next leadership role within a forward-thinking manufacturing business? We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering company in Sheffield that’s looking for a Maintenance & Facilities Manager to take ownership of all on-site maintenance and facilities functions.
This is a key role in the business where you’ll lead a small team of engineers and technicians, manage external contractors, and be responsible for the ongoing reliability of plant equipment, buildings, and site services. You’ll also drive the company’s preventative maintenance strategy and play a crucial part in minimising downtime across production.
As Maintenance & Facilities Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Leading and developing the site’s maintenance strategy to reduce downtime and improve reliability
Day-to-day management of the maintenance team and external contractors
Overseeing both reactive and planned maintenance activities for all site equipment and infrastructure
Ensuring all works comply with health & safety, environmental, and legal standards
Conducting root cause analysis for equipment failures and implementing engineering solutions
Managing departmental budgets and maintenance costs
Maintaining accurate records including service sheets, technical documentation, and compliance certificates
NVQ Level 4 / HNC in a relevant engineering discipline or a time-served apprenticeship
IOSH qualification or similar H&S training
Previous experience in a Maintenance Management or Supervisory role within manufacturing or engineering
Experience managing both in-house engineers and external contractors
45,000 – £50,000 basic salary (depending on experience)
