We are part of the Marshalls PLC, the UK's leading manufacturer of hard landscaping, building and roofing products We have a new opportunity for an Operations Team Manager to join our Maltby site and support our Operations Manager to exceed KPIs by ensuring that business objectives are cascaded through to the manufacturing teams, engaging the 'hearts and minds' of the company's employees to create and sustain a pro-active culture in all disciplines across the business We're on an Operational Excellence journey at our Maltby manufacturing site. So what's the mission? Your mission is to lead an operations team and define operational activities for your shift, some of which include the overall safe operation of plant and equipment, safety, quality, waste and OEE targets, and people management. You'll ensure that process control checks and records are completed to company standards and that quality incidents are escalated and managed through a non-conformance process, guaranteeing all affected products or material is contained/controlled. We pride ourselves on health, safety, and quality, so you will maintain a safe working environment for all by behaving in a way consistent with safe work and proactively challenging colleagues if they are putting themselves or others at risk. You'll support a zero-tolerance approach to breaches in safety standards, ensuring that everything (Pre-start checks, PPE, Lock off, behaviours, contractor activity) within the assigned department/shift is compliant with policies/procedures and associated site controls. You'll be a team player and a people person, delivering team briefs/toolbox talks in the timely manner and spirit in which they are intended while ensuring that any initiatives are embraced and actioned in line with company guidelines. You must have previous people management experience to ensure you're able to lead your team to success throughout the employees' life cycle What are the mission-critical skills?
