The Department of Chemistry at Lancaster University is seeking to appoint a full-time Research Associate in Next-generation K-ion Battery Cathodes to work in the group of [name of supervisor or group, if available]. This role is indefinite, subject to funding, which is currently available until 31/01/2027.
The project involves developing next-generation cathodes for K-ion batteries (KIBs). The main duties include preparing and optimizing novel metal fluorides for KIB cathode applications. The key objective is to understand the relationship between the structure of metal fluoride frameworks and their electrochemical properties.
ABOUT YOU
You will:
* Have a PhD degree (or be completing it with thesis submitted) in chemistry or a related discipline.
* Have experience in practical laboratory research.
* Have good English communication skills.
* Be proficient in X-ray or neutron crystallography, or solid-state NMR.
