You can really give back to your community as a gardener for your local council. Take pride in delivering all aspects of ground maintenance, including grass cutting, hedge trimming, strimming, leaf blowing and litter picking to keep our areas tidy.
What you’ll do
You’ll be responsible for all aspects of ground maintenance for your local council.
A typical day might include:
* General gardening, maintenance and horticultural duties as required at sites across your borough.
* Routine maintenance of the council’s cycle route network using hand tools or mechanical equipment.
* Assisting in minor landscaping tasks such as planting beds and pruning trees.
* Cleaning hard surfaces, trimming hedges and cutting grass.
Who you are
An enthusiastic and self-motivated individual, you love working as part of a team. You’re comfortable being outside in all weathers with a can-do attitude.
Ideally you’ll have:
* Demonstrable experience in commercial or public grounds maintenance or general skills that can be applied to the role.
* Full driving licence to at least category B for manual transmission vehicles.
* Confidence and physical abilities to operate heavy equipment.
* Understanding of Health and Safety requirements and risks associated.
* Good level of physical fitness and aptitude for outdoor work in all seasons.
