The Civil Parking Enforcement service is responsible for all elements of the enforcement of parking and moving traffic restrictions across Cardiff.
A rare opportunity has arisen for a driven and professional individual to lead teams undertaking and supporting all forms of traffic enforcement, ensuring the delivery of an effective and efficient department delivering excellent customer facing services.
About the job
The Team Leader, Civil Parking Enforcement will lead the delivery of the Civil Parking Enforcement service, ensuring all teams operate effectively, efficiently, safely, and in line with the relevant legislation.
The post holder will lead frontline teams undertaking parking enforcement, enforcement and removal untaxed vehicles, and enforcement of moving traffic offences to promote the vision of ‘Keep Cardiff Moving’.
The post holder will also lead teams undertaking the parking support functions including the in-house appeals team, as well as the teams responsible for the administration of parking permits, blue badges, and car parks.
This role will be mainly based at County Hall, Cardiff, with limited opportunities for hybrid working.
What We Are Looking For From You
We are seeking an experienced manager who can demonstrate:
* Experience of leading in a front-line service
* Proven record of instilling efficiency initiatives to improve performance and service delivery
* Ability to lead, motivate, and implement major change agendas and projects that result in significant cultural change
* Commitment to excellent customer service
Desirable attributes include:
* Experience in managing and delivering a traffic enforcement operational service
* Knowledge of the Traffic Management Act and Civil Parking Enforcement legislation
The successful candidate will play an essential role in delivering strategic improvements, fostering a culture of continuous development, and ensuring that operational targets are consistently met. The successful candidate will also contribute to building strong team morale and enhancing stakeholder relationships, thereby supporting the Council’s commitment to providing high‑quality public services.
