Secondary SEN Teacher – Temp to Perm
Location: Halifax, West Yorkshire
Pay: £160 – £200 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Temp to Perm
Start date: September 2025
We’re currently looking for a dedicated Secondary SEN Teacher to work in an alternative or specialist setting in the Halifax area. This is a full-time position, starting on a temporary basis with the potential to go permanent for the right person.
The role:
You’ll be working with students aged 11–16 who have a range of special educational needs, including SEMH, autism, and learning difficulties. Many of the young people will have faced challenges in mainstream education, so a flexible and understanding approach is essential.
Your focus will be on helping students re-engage with learning, build confidence, and make progress; both academically and socially. Support staff are on hand, and class sizes are generally small.
What we’re looking for:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent)
* Experience working with secondary-aged pupils with SEN, particularly SEMH or autism
* A calm, consistent approach to behaviour and communication
* Strong planning skills and the ability to adapt to individual needs
* Someone who’s reliable, resilient, and able to work well as part of a team
In return, you’ll get:
* A daily rate of £160–£200, paid weekly
* The chance to work in a supportive setting with small class sizes
* A temp-to-perm opportunity in a rewarding teaching role
* Ongoing support from an experienced team throughout your placement
