This research assistant post provides an exciting chance to support a Cancer Research UK funded programme of research that aims to improve access to lung cancer early detection for individuals with intellectual disabilities and severe mental illness. The post will mainly involve supporting public and patient involvement and engagement, qualitative data collection and preliminary data analysis.
The role is especially suited to those who would like to get more involved in inclusive research and are interested in public engagement, qualitative methods, and making a meaningful impact in health research involving underserved groups.
The successful applicant will be based in the Manchester Centre of Health Psychology (http://research.bmh.manchester.ac.uk/healthpsychology) and linked to the NIHR Manchester Biomedical Research Cancer Prevention and Early Detection theme. They will work with Dr Lorna McWilliams, along with a larger team of collaborators at the Universities of Manchester, Cambridge, University College London and Queen Mary University London.
This full-time post is available for 24 months, with the possibility of extension.
