Job Description – Membership Co-ordinator
Reporting
to: Head of Membership & Events
Location:
Crafted at Powdermills Hotel, Battle
Type:
Full-Time
We are
not hiring people to fill a seat or add to our headcount. We are hiring people
to craft our culture, ethos and success. This is a big deal for us, and we know
it is a big deal for you. A new role defines how you spend your days, who you
spend them with, and what your future looks like.
Together,
we will shape each other’s entire trajectory. That deserves thoughtfulness,
empathy and respect. It is why this job description is deliberately detailed.
We want you to know exactly what you are stepping into. The challenges, the
opportunities, the quirks of the role, and the kind of impact you will have.
Us
Crafted
is a series of life-friendly hotels and spaces where guests can be themselves
and fill up on the good stuff: nature, food, wellbeing, craft, people and play.
Our first opening is Crafted at Powdermills in East Sussex, arriving in summer
2025. More hotels will follow.
It is
easy to get overwhelmed by life. We rush through our days, lose sight of what
matters, and forget to take care of ourselves. Crafted exists to help people
reconnect with themselves, with others, and with nature.
Our aim
is to create a network of connected destinations that people return to because
they feel good there. These are places to come together, work on life, and
connect locally.
You
You will
be joining at a formative time for our Membership programme. We are creating
something fresh: a community of members who live locally and want somewhere
inspiring to spend time, connect, work and play.
As
Membership Co-ordinator, you will be at the heart of that effort. You will work
closely with our Head of Membership & Events to deliver a brilliant member
experience from day one. This includes managing administration and
communications, co-hosting events, collaborating across departments, and making
every interaction feel personal.
You will
need to be organised, switched-on, and great with people. But more than that,
we are looking for someone who enjoys creating moments, solving problems, and
shaping how a space feels.
As Membership Co-ordinator, your primary
responsibilities will be to:
- Handle
the day-to-day administration of our Membership programme. This includes
processing applications, undertaking tours for potential members, managing
records, updating systems and responding to member queries.
-
Support and host member events from planning through to delivery. Create a
welcoming and thoughtful experience throughout.
- Work
closely with the F&B, Wellness and Cultural Programming teams to align on
event logistics and scheduling.
- Act as
a key point of contact for members. Build relationships and understand what
they value.
-
Provide ongoing support to the Head of Membership & Events. Assist with
communications, reporting and planning.
- Ensure
every interaction with a member and their guests, from emails to in-person
greetings, reflects the warmth and tone of the Crafted brand.
- Be
present across the property and involved in programming. Represent the member
voice and make thoughtful observations on how we can improve.
-
Contribute to a sense of community by knowing who is who and encouraging
connection between members.
- Be
available for evening and weekend events as needed.
We are looking for someone with:
- One to
two years' experience in a member-facing, events or guest relations role
-
Excellent organisation and communication skills
- A
natural, confident and friendly approach to people
- A
genuine interest in community, wellbeing and culture
-
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when needed
-
Confidence with systems and a keen eye for detail
- A
proactive, can-do attitude and willingness to jump in
Together
We hire
people with personality who have a desire to continuously learn. Each person
should bring themselves to work to shape our culture and keep us real,
interesting and original.
To
create a comfortable environment for all, both guests and staff, we prioritise
teamwork over titles. No one is too important to lend a hand, and no one is too
new to have a good opinion. We need low egos but high expectations. We are
looking for people who are humble enough to jump in and serious about making an
impact.
Three values we will expect you to live by:
Enjoy
it: It is still work, but if you are having fun then so are our members.
Own it:
Whoever you are and whatever your role, someone’s experience is in your hands.
Improve
it: Ask for feedback, be curious, keep learning.
Note:
Positive Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles are integrated
across these three values.
