Teaching Assistant – SEND – Ilkley

The role is to work as a Teaching Assistant. Your role is to ensure positive behaviour is displayed across the school and in class. Your role as a Teaching Assistant is to support young people with their Science Learning & behaviour and help them develop strategies and action plans to encourage positive learning. You will need to forge a strong professional positive relationship with all students that you work with.
The Primary School is based in Ilkley
You will be encouraged to identify barriers the young people have to learn and how their behaviour has an impact on their education. Your role will be heavily involved in the pastoral side of school life and the impact of this on the young person’s education.
For this role you must:
Have a strong academic background (degree or similar)
1. or a strong background working with young people
2. Be able to work full-time school hours term time only Mon to Friday pm
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
Previous SEND experience – Previous experience with challenging behaviour – Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential as Safeguarding training is provided)
Team Teach training would be highly desirable for this role

8. The minimum rate of pay – Minimum rate £70 per day on PAYE.
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
9. Hold Right to Work in the UK
10. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
11. Provide two professional child related references
