Cyber Security Engineer
As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will work on complex systems provided by Thales, providing specialist security architecture, technical understanding, and guidance to enable Thales to develop reliable, secure, accreditable, and economically sustainable security solutions that meet project needs.
Your role involves advising on the development of security-compliant system architectures and contributing to the design of solutions, including studying alternatives and conducting risk assessments. You will join a growing team of engineers and architects to provide the right security solutions to meet customer requirements.
Key responsibilities:
1. Identify and analyze threats, vulnerabilities, and security consequences, maintaining traceability to security requirements.
2. Ensure security requirements are recorded, included, and tracked throughout development.
3. Maintain logs and traceability of security requirements to controls and assurance evidence.
4. Gather and configure evidence for the Security Case.
5. Justify security control choices.
6. Create reports and artifacts to support the security case, including deliverables.
7. Review observations and reports from users or maintainers, defining corrective actions as needed.
8. Coordinate technically across a multidisciplinary team.
We are looking for:
* Experience in a Cyber Security Engineer role within Defence, Nuclear, Government, Aerospace, CNI, or Transport sectors.
* Experience defining system security controls independently or with specialists.
* Proficiency with Infrastructure Security Design, including Network Security, Cryptography, Identity & Access Management, End-point protection, cloud technologies, and protective monitoring.
* Confidence in advising and supporting team members.
* Proficiency with Risk Assessment tools and methodologies across various sectors.
* Deep knowledge of industry frameworks like NIST, NIS-2, JSPs, MITRE.
* Experience implementing Secure by Design principles.
Desirable:
* Degree in Engineering or Computer Science or relevant industry certifications (CISSP, Cisco, CCP, etc.).
* Experience with Risk Management, Accreditation, Systems Design Lifecycles, and Embedded Systems Design.
