Overview
Exciting opportunity! Within the Endoscopy Unit at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford, we are looking to recruit Band 5 Staff Nurses / ODPs to join our team.
We have full-time or part-time positions available. The service will be expanding in the near future following a recent upgrade to our facilities, with new procedures and learning opportunities.
We provide a comprehensive on-call service for the out-of-hours work, and the successful applicant will be required to participate in this once fully trained.
Cross-site working will be required; ability to drive or to travel to The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital is essential.
Role and responsibilities
The pre-assessment of patients from clinic that require an endoscopic procedure, providing skilled and considerate care during the patients admission; taking into account the patient\'s specific needs during the procedure; recovery and discharge; preparing the equipment and the environment to enable the procedures to be carried out to a high standard safely.
Qualifications and skills
* Professional nursing/ODP qualification
* Ability to drive
* Enthusiasm; excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Working hours & service details
The Endoscopy unit is currently open 08:00 - 18:00, Monday to Sunday, including bank holidays.
Patient care, experience and staff well-being are at the forefront of our philosophy. This has been recently demonstrated with us gaining our JAG accreditation and a Values in Practice award for safety.
The unit currently provides a service for both out-patients and in-patients including the following procedures: Endoscopy, Sigmoidoscopy, Colonoscopy, Bronchoscopy, Cystoscopy, PEG insertions, ERCP and EUS.
