We’re looking for a passionate, dedicated, and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our small, dynamic team in a truly unique school setting. Based within a specialist hospital for young people aged 11–17 with eating disorders, our school provides a safe, supportive and inspiring educational environment during a critical time in their recovery journey. A One-of-a-Kind Opportunity This isn’t your typical classroom role. You’ll be joining a close-knit team of 7 subject specialists who work hand-in-hand with clinical staff to support and educate a small cohort of students. It’s a role that combines creativity, flexibility, empathy, and above all—a deep desire to see young people thrive. As An LSA, You’ll Support teachers in the planning and delivery of engaging, accessible lessons Prepare classroom materials and help create a calm, structured environment Offer one-to-one or small group support, tailoring learning to individual needs Build positive, trusting relationships that encourage both academic and emotional growth Help students develop social skills, confidence, and resilience If you're someone who thinks outside the box, finds joy in small wins, and brings a good sense of humour to your work—you'll fit right in. What We're Looking For Experience working with children/young people in a school or educational setting Knowledge or experience of working with SEMH and/or SEN needs A relevant qualification or background in education/support work Strong literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills An ability to spot when a student is disengaging—and find the right way to bring them back Patience, adaptability, and a positive mindset Bonus points if you bring hobbies or creative skills that could enrich our curriculum—whether it’s music, art, drama, coding, or even gardening!
