The role
As a Principal Flight Dynamics Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This is a rare opportunity to influence national defence capability while advancing your career in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Day-to-day, you’ll be
1. Performing orbit determination and planning manoeuvres to maintain the UK Skynet geosynchronous satellite fleet
2. Supporting daily flight dynamics operations including data analysis, propellant accounting, and product generation
3. Monitoring manoeuvre performance and refining satellite operational life estimates
4. Participating in satellite relocation, deorbiting, launches, and orbit transfers
5. Enhancing flight dynamics software through development, testing, and maintenance
This is a full-time permanent position, based at one of our key locations Hawthorn (Wiltshire), Corsham (Wiltshire), Oakhanger (Hampshire) or Bristol (Bristol). Hybrid working patterns are available and you will be required on-site as and when needed, depending on business requirements. 37 hours per week.
Essential experience of the Principal Flight Dynamics Engineer:
6. Demonstrate proven experience in satellite flight dynamics, engineering, or operations
7. Apply strong analytical ability and programming skills
8. Work in environments requiring engineering and analytical expertise
9. Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Qualifications for the Principal Flight Dynamics Engineer:
10. Hold an undergraduate degree in a relevant technical field
11. Preferably qualified in aerospace engineering, physics, computer science, or a similar discipline

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Developed Vetting (DV) clearance for this role.
