Background
As a Quantity Surveyor on repeat business retail accounts, you will be amongst a fast-track environment whereby a “can do” attitude is key to delivering our projects. You will be responsible for the commercial performance of the Project and become an integral member of a dynamic team whereby relationships internally and externally with our supply chain are key to our project success.
Taking Commercial control of projects from conception stage through to agreement of final accounts, you will be actively engaged throughout the project.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assist with scoping / quantifying works
2. Overall purpose of the role is to develop and manage contract budgets and forecasts to ensure the financial control and profitability of allocated contracts.
3. Promote, follow, and influence good Project governance through the policies and procedures laid out by RG Carter.
4. To develop, manage and extend commercial relationships with existing clients.
5. Attending and leading meetings with the client and sub-contractor.
6. Undertaking regular site visits
7. Manage procurement of trade packages and oversee sub-contract ordering in conjunction with company procedures.
8. Assist the Contract Manager with subcontractor selection, procurement scheduling and ensure the chosen subcontractor has the appropriate order, competency, and information to carry out their work
9. Developing and administering sub-contractor processes
10. Managing sub-contractor and client valuation accounts
11. Measure progress, submit valuations, submit final accounts and retention release, and monitor receipt of payment in a timely manner
12. Assess and value subcontractor requests for payment in line with subcontract
13. Assist team with resolving key issues and disputes
14. Completing and maintaining cost and value budget plans and reports for the designation projects
15. Where appropriate, assist with estimates and negotiations for future projects or phases
16. Manage the costs on a project to ensure both the company and the client is fully advised of the cost situation or variation to contract
17. Preparing monthly cost/value comparisons for submission
18. Developing and managing contract budgets and forecasts
19. Maximising cash-flow and evaluating quotations and estimates
20. Preparing monthly valuation and final account submissions for clients
21. Authorising and agreeing payment of sub-contractors
22. Providing timely and accurate financial information reports as required
23. Providing budget reports for clients and for internal purposes

Experience
31. 5 + Years of Construction within a QS role
32. Degree Qualification
33. Experience in Retail & Leisure sectors of Construction a benefit
34. Good construction technology knowledge
35. Good awareness and application of JCT suite of Contracts
36. Previous experience working with SOR
37. CSCS
