Overview

We are seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food quality. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will assist the Head Chef in managing daily operations, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and presentation. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a vibrant hospitality environment where creativity and professionalism are valued.

Responsibilities

* Assist the Head Chef in overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
* Supervise and manage kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to company standards.
* Prepare high-quality dishes in accordance with established recipes and presentation guidelines.
* Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards throughout all kitchen activities.
* Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery and customer satisfaction.
* Monitor inventory levels, assist with stock ordering, and ensure proper storage of ingredients.
* Train new team members on food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and service standards.
* Support the development of new menu items in collaboration with the culinary team.

Requirements

* Proven experience in a similar role within a busy restaurant or hospitality environment.
* Supervising experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
* Extensive knowledge of food production, preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation.
* Strong understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure.
* Exceptional communication skills to coordinate with team members and front-of-house staff.
* Previous restaurant experience is essential; hospitality background is highly desirable.
* A passion for culinary excellence coupled with leadership qualities that inspire others.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £14.50 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
