The Barts Heart Centre at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital is looking for a qualified ACP with an interest in cardiology (Band 8A), or alternatively, a band 7 nurse with significant cardiology experience, to join the team of cardiology ACPs and trainee ACPs.
You will be well supported by the team of ACPs (qualified and trainee ACPs), as well as the wider medical team.
You will have be a qualified nurse or allied health professional background and be eager to learn the fundamentals of advanced practice or currently working at this level.
You should have a passion for delivering exemplary care to patients and their families, pushing the boundaries of traditional roles.
The ACP team is a dynamic and evolving team, responsible for promoting and protecting the reputation of the Trust whilst maintaining a duty of care to our patients.
The role of the ACP in Cardiology is to provide high quality, safe and supportive care. The ACP will not only be a clinical expert but will also have commitments to the education and training of the multi-disciplinary team and to research and audit projects.

The ACP role will be pivotal in reviewing current policy to support decision making and provide clear visible leadership for the workforce promoting a culture of safety. The clinical area consists of 63 inpatient beds, including a Coronary Care Unit (CCU) and a day case/ambulatory care centre.
The role will involve clerking new admissions, reviewing patients post procedure, involvement in ward rounds, organising scans as appropriate, reviewing patients in post MI clinics and triaging new referrals.
You will also establish and oversee efficient clinical and business systems to support the directorate so that we can deliver an efficient and professional clinical service to the trust. A strong customer service attitude and collaborative approach is key.
