Production Planner – Etches Park
Location: Etches Park Train Maintenance Centre. Salary: £38,000 - £43,000 per annum plus 5% shift allowance. Contract: Permanent. This is a shift-based role requiring work outside normal office hours.
Responsibilities
* Focus on future maintenance work (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually) to develop and continually refine the maintenance plan for the 222 & 810 fleets.
* Assess the operational situation and dispatch requirements to provide input to the maintenance plan.
* Identify and prioritise tasks in accordance with contractual, performance, technical and safety requirements.
* Create and identify maintenance windows and determine available work hours to produce work orders.
* Liaise with Engineering and Supply Chain to identify, allocate and leverage resources for the maintenance plan.
* Actively monitor the backlog of defects to reduce reactive maintenance and improve reliability.
* Identify, monitor and resolve material issues affecting the maintenance plan.
* Plan the implementation of fleet modifications and promote Engineering Change where required.
* Initiate and plan fleet checks; liaise with contractors and external repair agencies to inform the maintenance plan.
* Manage costs through effective alignment of resources.
* Monitor repeat defects to reduce reactive maintenance and improve reliability.
* Comply with KPIs to drive improvement.
* Be reactive to incidents, disruptions and emergencies on the operational railway and amend the maintenance plan accordingly.
* Collaborate with Shift Production Managers and Shift Support Engineers at Etches Park Depot to agree the maintenance plan to be executed.
* Work with Operations Support and Engineering to incorporate overhauls and technical investigations into the plan.
* Utilise the SAP Maintenance Management System (MMS) and other IT applications as required to inform and develop the plan.
* Develop and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders and maintain a customer focus.
* Participate in daily conference calls and prepare reports and verbal briefs as required.
About you
* Experience in planning maintenance and production.
* Experience in product improvement and reliability engineering on UK rolling stock.
* Experience in leading internal and customer meetings.
* Sound knowledge of railway operations and compliance with railway rules and regulations.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think quickly.
* Experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as SAP, Maximo or Equinox.
