We are seeking a committed and experienced Van driver to join our team in Linwood. This is a full‑time, permanent role.
Key Responsibilities
* Report any safety concerns, hazard observations, accidents and incidents in a timely manner to allow full investigation and prevent re‑occurrence.
* Complete daily pre‑start vehicle inspections and submit to Transport dept.
* Report all accidents, vehicle defects, breakdowns.
* Operate HGV vehicles to collect, transport, and deliver waste materials between designated locations.
* Ensure compliance with Duty of Care regulations by inspecting waste, completing waste transfer notes, and sheeting all loads to secure transit of waste on the public highway.
* Complete relevant tickets or use a handheld device (as appropriate), detailing the necessary information and obtaining a customer signature.
* Ensure health, safety and welfare standards are maintained in accordance with the Company’s safety policy, Risk Assessments, Safe Working Procedures and Instructions.
* Maintain the cleanliness of the driving cab.
* Assist in the control and co‑ordination of work to ensure efficiency and productivity.
* Deliver excellent customer service.
This is not an exhaustive list. You may also be required to carry out any other duties as required by the business that you are qualified/trained in that meet the scope, spirit and purpose of this role.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Class 2 LGV driving licence.
* Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
* Professional and organised approach.
* Good time management / ability to work under pressure.
* Effective communication skills.
* Displays initiative.
* Self‑motivated / standalone capabilities.
* Flexible and committed.
