Process Engineer – Littelfuse
You will be part of the Engineering team at the Littelfuse manufacturing site, supporting semiconductor process optimization, stability, and continuous improvement across assigned production areas. Your work will directly influence process capability, yield performance, and timely resolution of production issues.
Responsibilities
* Take ownership of assigned semiconductor manufacturing processes such as diffusion, photolithography, metallization, bonding, sintering, encapsulation, test, and related backend processes.
* Optimize and maintain process parameters to ensure stable, repeatable, and capable manufacturing output.
* Develop, update, and implement process recipes, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
* Monitor process performance using SPC and support regular reporting of key process metrics.
* Analyse yield and in-process data to identify trends, deviations, and potential root causes.
* Support and lead structured problem-solving activities (e.g., 8D, 5-Why, DMAIC) to resolve process-related issues.
* Act as a technical support point for production issues within assigned process areas, working closely with Maintenance and Product Engineering teams.
* Support process qualification activities for new products and process changes, ensuring capability and yield requirements are met.
* Provide input into process capability improvements, focusing on yield, throughput, and variation reduction.
* Contribute to documentation control, ensuring process standards and procedures remain accurate and up to date.
* Support training of technicians and operators on assigned processes and equipment.
* Collaborate with Product Engineers to align process capability with device performance and quality requirements.
* Communicate process performance, risks, and improvement opportunities to the Engineering Manager and wider stakeholders.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in lean manufacturing activities within the site.
Qualifications
* HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Semiconductor Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Some experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment; semiconductor experience is an advantage but not essential.
* Strong analytical mindset with an interest in data‑driven problem solving.
* Basic understanding or exposure to SPC, statistical analysis, or quality tools (e.g., JMP, Minitab, Excel).
* Familiarity with structured problem‑solving methods such as 5‑Why or 8D is beneficial.
* Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams.
* Self‑motivated, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities.
* Willingness to learn semiconductor processes and develop technical expertise over time.
* Experience with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma concepts would be an advantage, but not required.
* Confident working in a hands‑on engineering environment and supporting shop floor teams when needed.
