Job Summary
The Site HRBP will support Site Operations goals, strategies, and to identify opportunities to increase organizational effectiveness and productivity. Under the general direction of the Site Director/Manager Human Resources, the Human Resources Business Partner carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: recruitment/employment, affirmative action plans (US only) and employment law compliance, benefits administration, training, performance management, on-boarding, and policy implementation.
Job Responsibilities
1. Participates in planning, coordinating and execution of and supports employee engagement, employee and community events.
2. Investigates employee concerns of compliance issues, working conditions, disciplinary actions, employee and applicant appeals, discrimination allegations and union grievances.
3. Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
4. Performs employment/recruitment function including advertising, applicant screening, managing the interview process, checking references, extending offers, coordinating pre-employment physicals, maintaining applicant flow records and affirmative action recordkeeping.
5. Conducts on-boarding process.
6. Reviews benefits with prospective and current employees, assists employees with eligibility for benefits plans, with enrolment, cancellation or changes.
7. Organizes and manages annual open enrollment communications and election process in coordination with the Division Benefits group (US Only)
8. Conducts employee meetings and benefit seminars and arranges for enrollment of employees in plans. (US Only)
9. Maintains compliance with local employment laws
10. Supports any occupational health issues / workers comp claims or other local return to work / re-integration processes
11. Enter updates to the HR systems, with employee change requests, creating reports, maintaining employment records as required by retention policies, run reports as needed and other functions.
12. Conducts various research and/or special projects and prepares reports and summaries.
13. Assist HR department with projects and initiatives as required.
Job Qualifications
Experience
14. 5–10+ years of HR experience, including: Employee relations Talent management Performance management
15. Proven experience in a strategic HR role or HRBP position
16. Experience working directly with senior leadership / business units
Core Competencies
17. Strong understanding of HR best practices and employment laws
18. Ability to align HR strategies with business goals
19. Expertise in: Workforce planning Organizational development Change management
20. Strong data-driven decision-making skills
